Dyngus Day (or Wet Monday) is another name for Easter Monday. It originated in Poland and the Czech Republic, but has become popular in many parts of the US, in particular in areas where large numbers of people trace their origins back to those countries.
In traditions dating back at least as far as the 15th century, boys would awake girls by pouring water on their heads and switching their legs with decorated willow or birch branches. Nowadays, only the water part remains, and usually outside the home. It's also not uncommon for girls to pay back the boys in kind - sometimes even getting their retaliation in first!
