World Religion Day is a Baha'i festival celebrated on the third Sunday in January.
The aim of World Religion Day is to foster interfaith understanding and harmony by emphasizing the common denominators underlying all religions. The message of World Religion Day is that mankind must strive towards unity and true equality, which depends not on the past, but on our future goals. Baha'is believe that the prime cause of conflict between man and man is the absence of a single spiritual and moral code.
World Religion Day observances are dedicated towards encouraging leaders and followers of every religion to acknowledge the similarities in all faiths so that a unified approach to the changes that confront humanity can be agreed upon.
