The days from 26th February to 1st March each year are called Intercalary Days ("between the calendar") and are inserted to adjust the Baha'i year (which consists of 19 months, with 19 days in each month) to the solar calendar.
The intercalary days are observed with gift-giving, special acts of charity, and preparation for the fasting that precedes the new year.
