Bursting Day

In Iceland the pre-Lenten festival is called Bursting Day.

Traditionally the last day on which people can eat meat before Lent, Bursting Day is when Icelanders celebrate by eating saltkjöt og baunir, (a salted meat and split pea soup) to the point of bursting!
